The sheltered flat-water of the harbour makes it easy for beginners to learn the basic skills of SUP in the picturesque surroundings.
Take in a paddle under the Seven Arch Bridge or out to the rivers estuary and see all this beautiful area has to offer.
Outside Newport just off the Greenway, take a trip on the Burrishoole River in the shadow of the 15th century Burrishoole Abbey or paddle further west to Carrickahowley Castle home to the famous pirate queen Grainne Uaile.
15km further west along the Wild Atlantic way and also on the Greenway, the picturesque village of Mulranny is an ideal location for making the transition from Flat-water Sup to Exposed-water Sup and provides the ideal opportunity to take in some SUP surf with its small rolling waves.
